Tryouts

Tryouts are held in the May and June of every year.  Please check the tryout link for more specific dates.  All tryouts will be held at either Avery or Darree Park in Dublin.


Number of Teams/Roster Size

The number of teams for each age group is largely guided by the number players trying out.  However, in general there are:

• U8 – U10:  Two to three elite level teams.  Each roster will contain 8-10 players to field a 6v6 team.
• U11-U12: Two to three elite level teams.  Each roster will contain 12-14 players to field an 8v8 team.
• U13 and up: Two to three elite level teams.  Each roster will contain 15-18 players to field an 11v11 team.

Soccer Seasons

• Fall Season typically begins with pre-season tournaments in August.  League games run from September – October.  Teams typically play two games per week.
• Winter Training runs December through February.  However, some teams elect to play in indoor leagues and supplement the club training.
• Spring Season typically begins with pre-season tournaments in March.  League games run from April – May.

Practice

Practice times and lengths are determined by each team’s coach.  However, most teams practice around two times a week.  Practice for the fall begins in August kicked off with the Team Ohio FC Team Camp.  Practices end in October.  For spring, practices begin in March and end in May.

Tournaments

All professionally-coached teams will attend tournaments throughout the year.  The number of tournaments played and distance traveled is determined by age group and announced at the beginning of each season.

• U8-U9 – Four tournaments over the fall and spring season plus both M.O.S.S.L. end-of-season tournaments.  Teams typically do not travel out of state,
• U10 – Five tournaments over the fall and spring season plus both M.O.S.S.L. end-of-season tournaments.  Most tournaments are in state.
• U11 - U18 - Eight tournaments over the fall and spring season.

Uniforms

Each player is required to purchase two jerseys, shorts and pairs of socks (one black, one white).  Warm-ups, backpacks and t-shirts are optional.  The uniform style will change every two years.

Fees

Team Ohio FC is committed to keeping player fees at an affordable cost.  Player fees cover the following: league fees, referee fees, field rentals, tournament fees, indoor training as well as coaching and administrative fees.   Fees range from $600 to $1500 per year, depending on age group, coaching qualifications, and number of tournaments.

Player fees do not cover expenses incurred traveling to matches or tournaments. Player fees also do not cover the cost of required uniforms. If you have additional questions regarding player fees please contact the club administrator.
