1. QUESTION: Why choose Team Ohio FC?
ANSWER: Through its staff of professional coaches, Team Ohio FC offers a unique opportunity for young men and women. The program offers a continuum of developmental play with a strong desire to place young men and women into soccer at their highest achievable level of play, beginning at the U9 level and continuing on through the U19 level. Team Ohio FC fielded nearly 28 teams in the 2007/2008 season in 11 age groups in three leagues with teams competing in four levels of play. Couple this vertically integrated club approach which provides a wide range of player opportunities, with a desire to teach advanced skills and tactics in a highly competitive environment and you see the value of a program where development, sportsmanship and fun are emphasized. Team Ohio FC’s younger age groups have historically been top performers in their respective age groups and divisions. In 2007 Team Ohio FC placed an unprecedented eight teams in the State Cup semi-finals with five of those teams winning the State Cup Championships.
2. QUESTION: What leagues do Team Ohio FC participate in?
ANSWER: The leagues are determined by age and level of competition. All teams in the U9, U10, and U11 age groups will participate in MOSSL. Teams in the U12 and U13 age group may participate in the Buckeye Premier League and MOSSL. Teams in the U14 age group and older will participate in the Midwest Region League or MOSSL.
3. QUESTION: What time commitment is involved?
ANSWER: Generally, a total of three to five games or practices are held in a one week period. It could be a combination of any three to five events (e.g. games or practices) in a week depending on the schedule. Practices typically run for 90 minutes. Each season is kicked off in the fall with team camp - held the last week of July/first week of August.
4. QUESTION: How extensive is the travel?
ANSWER: For games in the MOSSL, most games are in the Central Ohio area. Games in the BPSYL are mostly played in the Ohio South region. MRL games are played both in and out of state. As for tournaments, the travel is based on age and competition level. U9 and U10 teams tend to stay in the Ohio South region (a short drive). U11 teams and older may travel out of state. Select teams typically will not attend tournaments outside of the Columbus metropolitan area. Team Ohio FC has developed a concept of progressive engagement where player’s time, travel and expense commitments evolve and grow over time, as does their commitment to the game.
5. QUESTION: How much does it cost to participate in Team Ohio FC?
ANSWER: Team Ohio FC is committed to keeping player fees at an affordable cost. Player fees cover the following: league fees, referee fees, field rentals, tournament fees, indoor training as well as coaching and administrative fees. The 2010 - 2011 fees will be announced before tryouts.
Player fees do not cover expenses incurred traveling to matches or tournaments. Player fees also do not cover the cost of required uniforms. If you have additional questions regarding player fees please contact the club administrator.
