Speed and Agility Training Cancelled Sun./Mon. July 25/26

Speed and agility training will be cancelled for both boys and girls on July 25 & 26. Both Paul Gualitieri and Steve Willis are out of town Sunday and several kids will be participating in Team camp on Monday. We will end summer conditioning on Sunday August 1st (boys) and Monday August 2nd (girls), as scheduled.

Team Ohio to Offer Speed and Agility Sessions

Team Ohio will offer speed and agility training for Team Ohio-only boys and girls ages u-11/u14. The sessions are free so we encourage all to take advantage. The sessions will be conducted by staff strength coordinators Paul Gualtieri and Steve “Whitey” Willis.

Boys Schedule:  July 1,11,18,25 and August 1st

  • U11-U12 6pm-7pm 
  • U13-U14  7:30-8:30

 Girls Schedule:  July 5,12,19,26 and August 2n

  • U-11-U12 6:15pm-7:15 
  • U-13-U14 7:30-8:30

New Optional Team Camp Available Along with Summer Camps

Whether you are looking to refine your game or just tune up for the fall season, Team Ohio has two great options this summer.

Summer Camp

Team Ohio Summer Camp is open to all boys and girls ages 6 – 17.  The summer camp is held at Avery Park July 12-16 from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon each day.  The cost of this camp is $115.00 per player.  Registration information about this camp is available on the Team Ohio FC Web site.  Click on the “Summer Camp” link on the left side of the home page.

Optional Team Camp

Instead of requiring all teams to participate in a pre-season camp, this year it will be optional.  A pre-season camp will be held for Team Ohio Players only July 26 – 30 at Avery Park from 6:00 – 8:00 pm each evening.  The cost of the camp will be $85 per player.  This camp is open to Team Ohio FC players only and will be run by Steve Dawson, Gerry D’Arcy, and other qualified coaches. Cosmos and Juventus Win US Club Regional Titles

Over the weekend of June 19 and 20, the U13 Cosmos and U15 Juventus teams both participated in and won the US Club Regional Championship.  Both teams now have the opportunity to play in the National Tournament in Virginia Beach.  The scores were:

Juventus:
Game 1:  Juventus 3 v 0 Century United
Game 2:  Juventus 3 v 1 Ohio Elite Soccer Academy
Game 3:  Juventus 3 v 1 Hammer FC - Juventus wins round robin
 
Cosmos:
Game 1:  Cosmos 1 v 0 Ohio Elite Soccer Academy
Game 2:  Cosmos 7 v 0 FC Pride 97
Game 3:  Cosmos 7 v 1 CUP Crew Jrs Black
Final:  Cosmos 2 v 2 CUP Crew Jrs Gold, Cosmos win 3-2 in PKs.  Robert Mckelvey saves 3 pk in the shootout!

U12 Boys Strikers Win FC Delco Players Cup

Over Memorial Day Weekend, the U12 Boys Strikers traveled to the Philadelphia area to participate in the FC Delco Players Cup.  FC Delco hosted many of the top teams from the East Coast spanning Regions I, II and III.  In group play, the Strikers defeated the number one team from Maryland - The Baltimore Bays Hurricanes, 2-1 and Clarkstown SC from New York East 4-0.

In the quarterfinals, they faced Lower Marion SC from Pennsylvania East and won 2-0.  The semifinals, brought one of the more exciting matches of the tournament.  The Strikers played Dix Hills from New York East.  After ending regulation and two overtimes with a 2-2 score, they moved on to penalty kicks and advanced when the Striker's goalkeeper stopped the opponent in sudden death.

In the championship game, the Strikers played the number one team from Florida - South Florida Elite and won 3-2 in an exciting come from behind win!

Team Ohio had a great weekend at the State Cup and President’s Cup!  Please read below for all the results!

U10 Girls are Starburst Finalists

 The U10 Girls Green team participated in the Starburst Inivitational Tournament over Memorial Day and had great success.  On the way to the finals, the girls beat the Blue Devils, xTabi and Heroes FC.  The girls are pictured below with their awards!

 

U11 and U13 Girls Have Spring Tournament Success!

The U11 Green and U13 Green Girls Teams are off to a great start this spring.  Both have already had great success in tournaments.

 

U11 Girls Green Reach Finals of Nike Challenge Cup - Premier Division

The U11 Girls were finalists in the Team Ohio Nike Challenge Cup and lost a hard fought battle in the championship game losing only 0-1.  Great work girls!

U13 Girls Green Take Cedar Point Challenge Championship and Reach Finals of the Nike Cup

The U13 Girls Green Team had back-to-back fantastic weekends!  First they reached the finals of the Team Ohio FC Nike Challenge Cup.  Then, they took the momentum of that success and turned it into a championship at the Cedar Point Soccer Challenge.  Great work girls!

 

U11 Girls Green Take Starburst Championship!

Over Memorial Day Weekend, the U11 Girls Green team concluded their 2010 season by winning both the Mossl Classic division and
the Starburst Memorial weekend tournament.  To win the Starburst Championship, they beat:

  • MVP White 98 1-0
  • LKSC 98 2-0
  • WASA Eagles Talons 7-0
  • Blast FC 2-1

U11 and U12 Boys Take Spring Tournament Championships!

The U11 Boys Green and U12 Boys Strikers recently won championships at two tournaments.

U11 Boys Green Win Cedar Point Soccer Challenge - U12 Age Group

The U11 Boys Green Team recently decided to challenge themselves and play up in the Cedar Point Soccer Challenge.  They not only met the challenge, but won the championship!  Great work boys.

 

U12 Boys Strikers Win Javanon Cup - 11v11

The U12 Boys Strikers traveled to Louisville, KY to participate in the Javanon Cup.  They played 11v11 and won the championship.  Great job boys!

 

 

Team Ohio Ranked 15th by Nationalsoccerranking.com

As 2009 closes out, it’s time to reflect on all the past year’s successes.  With that, nationalsoccerranking.com has come out with their top 25 boys and girls clubs for the year.  Team Ohio was ranked the 15th best boys club.  We are the only boys club from Ohio that received a top 25 ranking.  To view the rankings, click here.
